A carreira de Heath Ledger teve inicio na Austrália, onde participou em várias produções de baixo orçamento. Em 1999 tornou-se conhecido ao lado de Julia Stiles na comédia “10 Coisas que Odeio em Ti“. Seguiram-se papéis de destaque em “O Patriota“, ao lado de Mel Gibson e em “Coração de Cavaleiro“. Com “O Segredo de Brokeback Mountain” Ledger foi consagrado pela crítica e recebeu uma nomeação para os Óscares. Já em 2007, Ledger foi um dos actores que encarnou a personagem de Bob Dylan em “I’m Not There“.
Sobre o filme, Ledger disse:
“It’s the most fun I’ve had with a character and probably will ever have.”
“It was an exhausting process. At the end of the day I couldn’t move. I couldn’t talk. I was absolutely wrecked.”
“I locked myself away in a hotel room for six weeks. I just formulated a voice and a posture and found a real psychology behind the Joker. I really put a lot of work into it. And the experience also on a production scale, by the way, is obviously a completely different shoot. Batman is just such a machine. It's huge and I've never worked on anything that big.”
Sobre comparações com Nicholson, comenta:
“I was a big fan of Jack Nicholson - still am - his portrayal of the Joker was perfect for Tim Burton's world and if Tim Burton had come to me and he was doing the sequel and he asked me to play the Joker in his movie, I wouldn't do it. I couldn't. Because you couldn't touch what Jack Nicholson did.”
Já vi o filme e tal.. e... não é um filme genial, também não se poderia exigir isso de um "comic-book-film". E depois.. peca pela falta de originalidade americana: - as míticas perseguições de carros e camiões; - explosões!!; - o triângulo amoroso entre as personagens principais (quase como no spiderman); - as cenas de pancadaria muito mal filmadinhas ( quase que não se percebe que o batman tem pernas..); sei lá mais o que.. ah, claro!! a voz do Batman está mesmo: ahahAHAHahahahaAHAHAHAHA!!parece que tá com aquela tosse sacana dos fumadores de cachimbos!! e tem dentes postiços tb!
Acho mesmo que o que vale a pena ver.. é o JOKER!! a interpretação do Heath reeditou a personalidade para um vilão anárquico sem ideias nem regras, crente somente na religião do CAOS e da "desordem natural das coisas". As expressões faciais e os maneirismos corporais que Heath adquiriu para o personagem diferenciam este Joker de todos os outros. E ainda bem!! Ele é tão mau, que chega a ser mesmo bom!!

If tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gangbanger will get shot or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics because it's all part of the plan. But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well, then everyone loses their minds!
